On-Page Grader report overview

The On-Page Grader report analyzes 27 on-page SEO factors to give you a score out of 100 — the higher, the better. Having a score of 100 doesn’t guarantee you’ll rank in the SERPs, but by covering the basics, you're ensuring that humans and crawlers can understand what your content is about.

Within the On-Page Grader view in MozBar, you’ll see your Page Score based on the Target Keyword you’ve entered and an Optimization Checklist which lists a few of the key factors to consider when updating this page.

To see a list of all factors that are hurting or helping your score, use the left-hand navigation menu to access each subtype.

Hurting Factors

In the Hurting Factors view, you’ll see a list of all the factors we identified as hurting your score. Use this list to identify areas for improvement.

Critical items are placed up top while less critical items are placed lower on the list. Each factor will also have a marker beside it indicating its importance.

  • Red x — Indicates this factor is considered one of the most critical
  • Yellow exclamation point — Indicates this factor is considered the next most critical

It’s important to note that all these factors are considered suggestions for how to better optimize your page. Their implementation and success depend on your overall SEO strategy and site structure.

Helping Factors

In the Helping Factors view, you’ll see a list of all the factors we identified as helping your score. Use this list to see what’s working on your page and consider implementing those factors on other pages.

A green check mark in this view indicates the page meets or exceeds the requirements for this factor.
